When you first hear the word’ royal families’ you must be having visuals of some Bollywood movie with a grand and luxurious setting with beautiful costumes, jewels and comforts. When we talk about present royal families you might think there will be few in existence. Well, here is a list of all the royal families of India which are living a rather luxurious life even today.

1. The Royal Family of Alsisar
The first one on our list is the royal family of Alsisar which has Abhimanyu Singh as the head of the family. He is also known as the ‘Raja of Khetri’. You might think he must handle some boring family business but truth be told Abhimanyu Sharma is the co-sponsor of the annual EDM Festival and owns a haveli in Ranthambore and Jaipur. He has done a Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management and is married to Sanyukta Singh.
2. The Royal Family of Jodhpur
Rajasthan is the abode to beautiful forts and rich culture so it is evident that there are many noble families from this state of our incredible India. The very famous Maid Bhawna is owned by the family. It is run by the Taj group and the royal family in partnership. The present owner of one of the world’s largest residence “The Maid Bhawna Palace” is Gaj Singh.
3. The Royal Family of Bikaner
The very famous and renowned Princess Rajyashree Kumari who is an Arjuna Award winner and a former shooter is the current heir. She runs many charitable trusts in Rajasthan and resides in Bikaner. She is the owner of Lalgarh mahal known for being a very luxurious heritage hotel.

We all know that the very brave and famous Maharana Pratap was of Mewar Dynasty and now his descendants reside in Udaipur. His Royal Highness Arvind Singh Mewar is the 76th custodian of the House of Mewar. He is also the head of HRH Group which has around 10 hotels under it. The majestic Jag Mandir Island Palace on the beautiful Lake Pichola is owned by them only.
5. The Royal Family of Jaipur
Padmanabh Singh is the ruling king of the Royal Family of Jaipur after he was informally crowned upon the death of Bhawani Singh. Padmanabh is the son of Diya Kumari Bhawani Singh’s only daughter. He has completed his education from Millfield School in Somerset, United Kingdom. Padmanabh Singh is a great Polo player and is the member of Guards Polo Club. He led an Indian National team in over 70 years at Hurlingham Park.
6. The Wadiyar Dynasty
The current Maharaja of Mysore is Yaduveera Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wadiyar. He is only 26 year old and own assets worth INR 10 crores. The Wadiyar Dynasty is the only dynasty to have ruled a kingdom for more than 500 years. The current heir is known to have a degree in Economics and English. He married Trishika Kumari Singh (Princess of Dungarpur) and has a son with her.
7. The Royal Family of Baroda
Samarjit Sinh Gaekward is the current head of the Royal family of Baroda. He is 52-year-old and owns property worth 20,000 crores. They are said to be the maiden family of Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur. The very famous Laxmi Vilas Palace is also owned by the Gaekwards of Baroda. The Gaekwards hold power in Vadodra since the 18th century. Trusts of 17 temples in Banaras and Gujarat are also managed by Samarjit Sinh. He also represented his state in Ranji Trophy.
8. The Royal Family of Rajkot
Yuvraj Mandhatasinh Jadeja is the current head of the Royal family of Rajkot. He is adopting a modern approach to expand his business by investing in hydropower plants and bio-fuel development. He has also tied up with US pizza to open around 20 places across Gujarat.
9. The Nawabs of Pataudi
The Nawab of Pataudi is quite famous given to the fact that the current heir ‘Saif Ali Khan Pataudi’ is a very famous and successful actor. His father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was a captain of the Indian Cricket team and married Sharmila Tagore. The Pataudi Palace is said to be worth 800 crores. The current heir has three children. Two are from his previous marriage to Amrita Arora and one from his marriage with Kareena Kapoor Khan.
10. The House of Bhonsales
We all are aware of the bravery of Chhatarpati Shivaji. It is well-known that the descendants are residing in different places like Nagpur, Madhol, Satara, Kohlapur, Tanjore and Savantwadi. The 13th Chhatarpati title-holder is said to be Udayanraje of Satara. He is a member of Bhartiya Janta Party and holds assets worth INR 170 crores.
Some say that Sambhajiraje Chhatarpati is the 13th title-holder. He is also a member of Bhartiya Janta Party and is the MP of Rajya Sabha.
