Medical Police
Available on: Netflix
This show is pretty much everything you want from a show that is similar to when you talk about shows like Brooklyn 99. It has action, guns, missions, and fun – a comedy of errors, to sum it up. A duo of American doctors is hired by a government agency as they find a new and dangerous virus in Brazil. It has just entered the roster of shows on Netflix and has one season, for now. There’s another interesting fact that Brooklyn 99’s popular criminal Doug Judy (Craig Robinson) stars in this one too, which makes another parallel between the two shows.
Good Girls
Available on: Netflix
Good Girls is based on sisters Beth and Annie, in the close company of their best friend Ruby, as they attempt to take law in their own hands. All three of them are victims to unfairness on multiple levels, both in their private and professional lives. Clasped deep under the burden of debts, they choose to take control of a local grocery store and plot a heist. But, one thing leads to another, and this improper group of criminals is drawn into a deeper problem.
Bones
Available on: Hotstar
Each time you watch this show, you will be recalled of the time the Fire Department stole a case from Jake and Boyle. The lead cast, forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan and a cocky FBI special agent Seeley Booth build a terrible team. Still, they form a habit of reaching the crime scene a little too late. Because they are often in time only for rotten flesh and bones, the show gets a comic twist. This comedy-drama should hold you interested if you’ve completed Brooklyn 99.
Trailer Park Boys
Available on: Netflix
If you haven’t watched Trailer Park Boys yet, there isn’t a better time to start. The show is also famous as a mockumentary on the criminal activities that encompass the trailer park community. It is a humorous take on their lives and still another show that exists on the concept of comedy of errors. The Canadian show has 12 long seasons and is certain to have you entertained for a long time.
Happy!
Available on: Netflix
Happy! hasn’t been much popular among shows on Netflix. It is based on a graphic novel by the same name, and tells the story of Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) who’s a nefarious ex-police officer turned hitman, who discovers himself flowed into a world of regular murders, casual sex and betrayal. Nevertheless, his life takes a turns when he meets the fictional character of a tiny, whimsical blue-winged horse named Happy. The show is fresh and heartfelt as Happy and Sax set on a quest to reinvent Sax.
The Good Cop
Available on: Netflix
Big Tony, the father of the lead character is very comparable to Jake Peralta, yet, his son, the lead, follows a somewhat unusual pattern. Tony Jr. is a straight-laced NYPD police officer who works by the rules and is truly “The Good Cop”. The show is set in Brooklyn too, which makes it more interesting and relatable. The father-son relationship grows over the course of the show, as Big Tony gives some street advice to his honest son.
Reno 911!
Available on: Voot
The show premiered in 2003. Reno 911 gets close to B99 as it is created on a similar basis involving cops, solving crimes with a twist of comedy. A mockumentary-style comedy compilation, this somewhat unscripted show also takes the viewers into the mix by inviting them into the cop car while a bunch of inexperienced cops work on matters like speed violations, prostitution or barge into drugs dens.
