Clash of the Titans

The fight between humans and the gods is shown in this movie. The plight of humans and what happens when they oppose the gods are depicted in this movie. For the adventure suckers, this will do justice. There is a demi-god (part human and part god) who fights form the side of humans. This movie will excite you and will prove to be a good investment in terms of your time.

Pirates of the Caribbean

The best series to watch which involves pirates, Kraken and is from the old times. Jack Sparrow is indeed the best pirate ever and you have to watch it to find out. There is a curse in each part and everyone is trying to escape it but wants to have a reward in return. The best depiction of sea life and how people behave when they face difficult choices.

Excalibur

If historic fantasy films agree with your taste then this one is classic and is worth a one time watch. It came in 1981 and did well at the box office. There is a sword and a tale of family heritage is depicted in the movie. The sword is redrawn by the son of the king and is used to defeat the greater evil. Sounds good right. 

The Mummy

The ancient stories and beliefs of Egypt are made alive in this series. There is a book of dead which brings to life an unresting and invincible creature who will destroy every one who comes in his way. how people work together and make every effort to make him stop. The creature takes all the pain to get back together with his old flame.

The Dark Crystal

On some faraway planet, hell breaks loose due to the damaged dark crystal. There is an evil who will rule forever if the crystal is not healed during the great conjunction of the three suns. An amazing movie to watch from the ’80s.

The Hobbit

The hobbits are interesting creatures as shown in the Lord of the Rings movie. There is a lot more to hobbits and this is just the movie to find that out. This is a prequel of the Lord of the Rings.

Beauty and the beast

This is a classic from Disney and has been recently recreated beautifully with Emma Watson as Belle. A good watch with a modern twist to the old story. The story remains untouched and that I think is the beauty of the movie. It is a good movie to watch on a lazy afternoon.

Maleficent

If you have a thing for dark fantasy films then this one, you are going to love. We all have seen movies like Sleeping beauty, Cinderella, Snow white and rooted for the coy girls to win from the evil. But what was the perspective of the evil? We never thought about it and that is exactly what is shown in this movie. Angelina Jolie has done a very good job. 

Hansel & Gretel

Based on a novel the story is quite interesting. Two children Hansel and Gretel are invited by the witch to her house. her house is made of cakes, candies and all other treats dear to children. Just a little thing, the witch is a cannibal(she eats human flesh). The young ones get a whim of her motive and are able to escape. Later they become witch hunters and the movie is action packed and a treat to watch.

Labyrinth

Labyrinth holds a great significance in Greek mythology. The movie came in 1986 and has many dark scenes. Sarah decided to bring her baby brother back who is held by the goblin king. the goblin king is actually a human and the movie tells his purpose to do things which are being done.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

The movie is based on the novel with the same name starring Johnny Depp. Willy Wonka played by Johnny Depp has a Chocolate factory and his business is not running smooth. He decided to run a contest and choose 5 people to get a tour of his chocolate factory and get lifetime access to the chocolates for free. He has some troubles with his family and all the events unfold in a particular manner which makes it an interesting watch.
